It’s been another busy month in the eating department, and I’ve had some really lovely meals in my home town. Check out this post to read about the fab veg eats I enjoyed in Perth a few weeks back.
On a trip to the inner west I stopped for lunch at vegetarian cafe El Chapel, little sister of popular cafe Two Chaps, both located in Marrickville. It’s a cute and friendly eatery with lots of freshly made and baked goodies to choose from (save room for a sweet treat). I went for the daily salad of roasted veg from the specials board which was loaded with pumpkin, cabbage and apple.
This joint is another hit from my list of veg eats in Sydney. How many have you tried so far?
For a special celebration dinner, there was no other choice but Sokyo in Pyrmont or beautiful and modern Japanese food and fabulous cocktails. I love that they have a separate vegetarian menu which certainly made my dining experience even better (it’s nice to feel accommodated!)
I love that the serves are small enough to share and of course, everything was wonderful. Some of my favourite dishes were the silken tofu with garlic and cucumber, the asparagus tempura and the roasted cauliflower with miso.
After a day of training in the city, Assamm was a great spot for a quick Thai lunch in Sydney. The fruity mocktails are enough to have you thinking you’re enjoying a boozy lunch and the vegetarian pad Thai was one of the best I’ve had for a while.
Last but certainly not least was my first and long-awaited meal at Fratelli Fresh, at a visit to their new city restaurant at Westfield Sydney. The bonus of an early weeknight dinner means being there for happy hour so a little frizzante and pinot grigio was a must!
The dishes were very tasty and great for sharing. I loved the rich polenta with mushrooms and gorgonzola and the porcini tortellini with butter and pepper sauce was incredibly light and the margarita pizza was perfectly thin and crispy. Of course one must always sample the dessert menu so I can certainly vouch for the banoffee!
So friends, did you have any memorable eats in October? Hit me up in the comments with your favourites.
