Although it’s been months since my first trip to Cambodia, I’m still utterly enchanted by it and I know it won’t be the only time I visit. It’s such a fascinating country, the history is like something out of a novel, the ruins are spectacular and the people are always smiling.
In looking back over the highlights of my trip, to recount the experiences and share them with you here, I’m really enjoying revisiting the photos I took on that tour. The ones that make me smile the most, are those of the children I came across in the quiet rural towns.
For those far more experienced in photography, I expect they’d have honed a specific style and would have a particular subject that they like to shoot, especially when travelling. As a total amateur at photography, I don’t really have a ‘style’, I just snap whatever looks beautiful and I wish to remember.
It was a complete accident to end up with so many great shots of local children – and these are just some of them. Aside from most of my photos usually being dominated by food, these happy pictures highlight how much the encounters with young ones affected me along my travels.
But that’s the great thing about travel, right? Always being surprised, delighted and excited – especially by the things you least expect.
Tell me friends, what are the most memorable experiences of your travel adventures?
