Last December I started sharing my thoughts each day in a journal. Twelve months later I’m happy to report that I’m still journaling, and I highly recommend you do it, too.
What got me started was being in the midst of an emotionally tough time. I needed to download the many thoughts bubbling around in my mind. Once I got started and into a rhythm, it became really therapeutic. Something I NEEDED to do.
Taking time out of each day to let loose and write everything down – from the menial to momentous – was something I looked forward to. Writing in a journal every day became a great way to unpack my thoughts and feelings.
Letting it all out reduced my anxiety and helped me sleep better at night.

The key is to find a method that works best for you. Whether it’s a notebook and pen or a document you can edit on your tablet, laptop or computer, identifying a way that will be easy for you to stick to will get you off to the best start.
