The My Monthly Loves link up is a regular feature where I share some things I’m digging on, and I invite y’all to do the same by joining in the link up.
Let’s go, March!
1. Sri Lankan buys
I picked up a few interesting foodie things (surprise surprise) while I was in Sri Lanka. I’m certainly keen to give them a try over the coming weeks. Stay tuned for a fruity cocktail recipe, featuring a spirit made from coconut toddy!
2. Noritake plates
In Colombo, I visited a Noritake store and bought a few gorgeous plates and a pretty tea mug. I only wish I had brought back more! I was also surprised to learn that a lot of these beautiful porcelain pieces are in fact made in Sri Lanka.
3. Gemstone rings
Even though Sri Lanka is known for it’s gems, I certainly didn’t expect to be buying any. Learning about the beautiful and unique stones that are mined there, made me keen to take home a memento. I picked out a pretty blue sapphire ‘star’ stone which was made into a ring and I also bought a blue moonstone ring. This photo doesn’t at all do the gems justice as they’re actually quite striking. I’m pretty chuffed with my new hand jewels and what’s even better is they were blessed at a Hindu temple before I flew home.
