My Monthly Loves is a regular feature where I share some things I’m digging on, and I invite y’all to do the same by joining in the link up.
Let’s go, February!
1. Kinda Bacon
I usually like to used fried shallots for sprinkling on top of rice, pasta and even salad dishes. This month I tried something a little different.
Crunchy, salty and the best part is that no animals were harmed to make them. Kinda Bacon is made from organic coconut flakes seasoned with tamari, liquid smoke and spices and they have a fabulous smoked flavour. This was a big hit on my simple mushroom pasta.
2. A new ring
Although I’m not big on bling I was gutted when I recently lost a silver Tiffany & Co ring that was a 30th gift from friends. I loved that ring – it was different and interesting and I wore it all the time.
When I did some research before my visit to Yangon, I was surprised to learn that 90% of the world’s rubies are mined in Myanmar. Ruby happens to be my birthstone so when I visited the Bogyoke Market I had my heart set on finding a replacement ring.
The market had a lot of commercial pieces that all looked the same but the originality and honeycomb style of this won me over. I even did a little haggling and got the price down. Ain’t it pretty! Promise I won’t lose this one.
3. Wall art
I found this wall hanging on a day in Leura and it pretty much sums up my philosophy on life. The picture makes me want to improve it by making a slight change:
Life is too short to be serious all the time…so eat a cupcake.
And now friends, it’s over to you – what goodies are you loving this month?
