Last month I spent a delicious week in Japan. In that time I took over two hundred and fifty food photos (that is way more than the photos I took of family and scenery!). After categorising all the images I had over 10 ideas for blogs. Whilst I have posted some of them, I am slowly working my way through the remaining drafts.
I’ve been back over a month and life has taken over so unfortunately I haven’t produced the posts as quickly as I had hoped. If only I were able to write quicker! So apologies all, I haven’t forgotten, they ARE coming… promise.
Whenever I visit Japan (I’ve been three times now) I try to immerse myself in their fascinating culture. Food wise this means only eating Japanese food and staying away from Western style restaurants and dishes. I can eat that kind of food anytime!
The Japanese take their food very seriously. Their attention to detail is amazing and food is always presented beautifully. Almost every eatery has an elaborate (and incredibly lifelike) display in the form of replica plastic dishes on a table out the front of the restaurant or displayed in the window. This makes it easier to decide if the type of food is what you feel like!
So here are just some of the gorgeous food displays I came across in Osaka, Sapporo and Tokyo. Enjoy!
