Welcome to Inspirational Interview – Fab 5. A regular feature where I share the story of a clever creative who inspires me, and I hope they’ll do the same for you.
I’m super excited to introduce you to Nicola Easterby, the globetrotting gal behind travel blog, Polkadot Passport.
At Polkadot Passport, Nicola shares loads of travel inspiration, destination guides and things to do combined with beautiful photography (her stunning IG feed gives me serious travel envy). I’m tipping that once you start checking out Nicola’s blog, you’ll be itching to start planning your next trip, pronto!
Your blog is fab! Who or what inspired you to create Polkadot Passport?
I first started a blog simply as a place to share my overseas adventures with my friend and family. The more I travelled, the more people I had asking me for travel advice and actually wanting to follow along my journey! One thing led to another and before I knew it, I had made the jump in to the elusive world of full-time travel blogging (and haven’t looked back since!)
What blogging milestone are you most proud of and why?
I recently was invited to attend the biggest worldwide travel blog awards in Sri Lanka, TBCasia, where I won the silver award for the Best Upcoming Travel Blogger! It was incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by so many top travel bloggers and I was so honored to have won an award!
What is your favorite food memory?
I have always LOVED Turkish food, so getting to visit Turkey and sample all of the delicious cuisines was a dream come true! One of my favourite memories was sitting in a random little alleyway in Istanbul, drinking Hot Apple Tea, feasting on delicious Turkish Delight and chatting to a cafe owner for hours on end.
Who are the creative souls that inspire you?
I’m really inspired by individuals who are doing something meaningful with their creativity and influence, such as Australian photographer & creative, Melissa Findley. She recently created a Nepal Zine filled with her photos that raised almost $12,000 which she donated towards the Namaste Nepal Appeal!
Toot your horn! What’s coming up next for Polkadot Passport?
I’ve got some very exciting European adventures coming up in the next few months, kicking off with Sziget Festival in Budapest in August! I’ve also got a road trip planned in California and a very excited press trip to India happening towards the end of the year!
