If there’s one good-for-you habit I wish I could stick to every single day, it’s to kick off the morning with a healthy breakfast smoothie.
Usually I include loads of goodies including almond milk, coconut water or milk, frozen fruit, medjool dates, flavoured pea, rice or hemp protein powder, LSA, buckinis, chia, hemp or flax seeds, fancy powders like cacao, lucuma, maca or mesquite and raw nuts.
But let’s be real – not everyone has a stash of weird and wonderful ingredients.
Sometimes it’s the simple combinations that really hit the spot.
There’s something about frozen banana that magically transforms a smoothie, creating a lovely creamy consistency. I’ve ALWAYS got banana in my freezer so I’m ready for those smoothie cravings any time of day. This one is a really easy smoothie that is a favourite of mine, I’m sure you’ll love it too.
Tip: To freeze banana, remove the peel and break the banana into 5cm pieces. Store in a ziplock bag and leave to freeze at least overnight before using. As well as adding amazing flavour and creaminess, frozen banana will also chill your smoothie so you don’t need to add ice.
