This is without doubt, the best dish I have ever had. I know, that’s a big call. But at Becasse, you can expect nothing but the best. This delicious mushroom risotto, part of a degustation, was generously topped with shaved truffle. Divine. Even just looking at this photo takes me back and makes my mouth water!
Update: I’ve added the beautiful images of the other dishes I had during this degustation. The presentation is just spectacular, the crockery is stunning and the taste is sensational.
On arrival you enter through a big black door and walk down a leafy hallway, which gives you the feeling of entering a gorgeous secret garden. There are a small number of tables inside so you get a very intimate dining experience.
The service is also fantastic, the staff are really friendly and you never need to ask for anything. We had been served by one of the waiters during a degustation at Rockpool (my second favourite) a few months prior so being recognised was a nice surprise! Some wait staff can be a little too attentive, or not enough, but at Becasse they get it just right.
They easily catered for me as a vegetarian and I had a few seafood dishes. I made sure to let them know when making the booking. They can also cater for vegans on request.
Everything was perfect. I recommend going for lunch as the restaurant has beautiful lighting during the day.
This continues to be the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. So much so that I’m already looking for a reason to go again! Birthday, anyone?
