Bean Supreme are the makers of gourmet GM-free veg foods, available in the cold section of major supermarkets.
I’ve long been a fan of Bean Supreme soy goodies because they are so quick and easy – perfect for those busy weeknights.
As well as enjoying a delicious lunch, it was a talk by dietician Angela Saunders that I found really interesting. Angela shared some interesting facts with us:
15.9% of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions come from agriculture
Of that, 67.4% is from the methane of livestock
Pretty staggering figures, right? This equates to Australia having THREE TIMES the ecological footprint of the world average. That’s an excellent case for people to consider a few meat-free dishes each week so I was pleased to hear that nearly half of Australians are attempting to reduce meat in their diet. Go Aussie go!
As well as the new falafel kofta, there are a bunch of other Bean Supreme products that you’ll find in the healthy section of the supermarket.
Even before I went along to this event, I always had a pack or two in the fridge for nights when I’m a little low on time. They are affordable and really easy to prepare. My favourites are the meatballs in tomato sauce which I like with wholemeal pasta and the garlic sausages which are excellent with sweet potato mash and steamed veg.
