After arriving in Adelaide, a day before the Eat Drink Blog conference, I met up with a bunch of sweet-toothed blogger pals for afternoon tea. This is a short (and very sweet) post to show off some of the gorgeous desserts.
Astonish Patisserie is a dessert and wine bar, open mid afternoon to late. The desserts both sound and look amazing. I was pleased to see that they also offer a variety of local wines.
The stone building had an old feel and the interior is decked out with dark wooden floors and heavy furniture. I imagine the dimly lit venue would be perfect for an evening visit.
Soon after The Sticky and Sweet, The Adventures of Miss Piggy, Love Swah, Veggies and Me, Cooking Crusade and I arrived, we were debating which desserts we’d share. So of course, we ordered a whole bunch. Chocolate Magma, Seasonal Sweet Pizza, Pavlova, Vanilla Creme Brulee, Panna Fire, Half-Cooked Cheese Cake and macarons.
Astonish has only been open a short time and I expect it will do quite well. The desserts are interesting and beautifully presented. It’s also quite reasonably priced. Something like this would be fantastic in Sydney!
