Having returned from a week away for work in the beautiful Blue Mountains, I thought I would share with you some of my away-from-home meals. Because a girl’s gotta eat, right?
Initially I was a little concerned about what would be on offer but I needn’t have worried. We stayed in a basic motel at Katoomba – breakfast for me was cereal or baked beans (toot toot).
Someone at the motel must be a collector of vintage salt and pepper shakers – here are a few cute pairs I snapped.
For one dinner we went to Station Bar in Katoomba which is a casual eatery and bar. The staff are really friendly and the thin, crunchy-based pizzas are excellent and all named after suburbs in the area.
I tried two of the veg pizzas – below is the ‘Mt Victoria’ which has macadamia pesto, pine nuts, sautéed mushrooms, fetta, rocket and parmesan. This one was my favourite! The apple pie and ice cream dessert pizza was pretty good too.
Of course it wouldn’t be a visit to the Mountains without a touristy shot of The Three Sisters. It’s such a stunning view.
On my last day I visited Leura for a scone – another must for the area. These had a hint of orange peel which I really liked. The berry jam was homemade too.
Coming up, I’ll share some of the vegetarian eateries I visited:
