Fine dining is such a treat, it’s one of my favourite fancy things to do. And when you find yourself at an all veg joint, well you know you’re onto a winner. And that’s certainly the case at vegetarian restaurant Yellow.
You may recall the time I had my most posh meal to date, at Bentley Restaurant and Bar in Sydney. It was a lush and extravagant affair that was quite costly and worth every penny. When I heard the same group had opened a new vegetarian restaurant, I was super keen to check it out.
It was the spring menu for my visit and of course, we went all out and had seven courses. To mix things up, my friend and I ordered one vegetarian and one vegan so we could taste both menu options.
The dishes were light, full of flavour and different textures and as expected, beautifully presented. There wasn’t much difference between the vegetarian and vegan options, so no one need feel like they’re missing out. My favourite dish was the Kohlrabi + Enoki Mushroom + Vegetable Broth which looked like a soft pink petaled flower, floating on a clear shallow pond and it tasted just as delicate.
Yellow was a fabulous spot for a special meal it would and would be even better with the matching wines. I’ll certainly be back to try the menu in another season – because life is too short not to live it up and treat yourself, right!
